Luke 7:11-17 - As Jesus entered the town of Nain, He saw a funeral procession, and a widow was mourning the death of her only son. Jesus, moved with compassion, approached the bier, touched it, and said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
This miraculous act was a demonstration of Jesus' compassion and authority over death. The widow’s son was not only restored to life but also given the chance to live again with his mother, which must have brought immense joy and gratitude.
In this act, Jesus didn’t just perform a physical resurrection but also showed the deep emotional connection He had with the suffering of others. His compassion for the widow is evident in the miracle, where He did not wait for a request but acted out of love and kindness.
